What better way to kick it off this new chapter for The John & Nancy Hughes Theater than John Hughes’ classic film “The Breakfast Club” in new 4K digital restoration with 50 minutes of deleted and extended scenes!

John Hughes’ The Breakfast Club is a defining coming-of-age film that explores the pressures, insecurities, and unexpected connections of teenage life. Set during one Saturday detention at a suburban Chicago high school, the film brings together five students who seem to have nothing in common.

There’s the brain, the athlete, the basket case, the princess, and the criminal. Each arrives with a different reputation and a different reason for being there. At first, their personalities clash. They argue, tease one another, and retreat into the roles their classmates expect them to play.

But as the hours pass, those walls begin to come down. The students share stories about their families, friendships, fears, and struggles. Soon, they discover that the labels separating them don’t tell the whole story. Beneath the stereotypes, they face many of the same questions about identity, expectations, and belonging.

Featuring memorable performances from Emilio Estevez, Anthony Michael Hall, Judd Nelson, Molly Ringwald, and Ally Sheedy, The Breakfast Club blends humor with heartfelt moments and an unforgettable soundtrack. Decades after its release, the film remains a funny, thoughtful, and relatable look at growing up and discovering who you really are.
