Gorton Center
For 50 years, Gorton Center has worked to enrich the lives of our communities through cultural arts, education, and charitable service. As a 501c3 nonprofit organization, Gorton Center relies on the generosity of residents and businesses to help fund the programs & services offered and are grateful for the support received from our community.
Gorton Center presents live music and entertainment, films, and classes for all ages in our historic building. We also house Gorton Children’s Learning Center, a high-quality early education and daycare center that has been in operation for over 35 years. We welcome our community to rent our spaces to host their own events onsite. Additionally, Gorton Center houses the offices of ten other nonprofit organizations on the second floor of our building.

Accessible Parking
Parking spaces for persons with disabilities are available in the public parking lot to the south and west of Gorton Center. Patrons may also be dropped off at the south entrance under the porte cochére.

Wheelchair-accessible restrooms are available to patrons on all levels of the facility.

Assisted Listening
Gorton offers hearing assistive listening devices and has a Hearing Loop installed in the John & Nancy Hughes Theater and in the Stuart Community Room. Listening devices are available free of charge to audience members and are available on a first-come, first-served basis on the day of the performance from the theater manager. Hearing assist devices do not work with some in-ear hearing aids.

Signage throughout the building is equipped with braille. Please be sure to inform the office of any special needs when ordering tickets to ensure suitable arrangements can be made. Service animals are welcome.

Gorton Center is fully wheelchair accessible. Gorton has accessible seating available to wheelchair patrons and their companions (subject to availability). These seats are not for sale on the website and must be purchased via phone through our main office at 847-234-6060. Please note: everyone must have a ticket to be admitted to an event. Patrons must identify the need for wheelchair seating when purchasing tickets to ensure accessible seating is available. Service animals are welcome.

PARKING INFO
Find parking in our main lot on the West side of Gorton Center off of McKinley Road or in the connected upper lot. Parking is also available in the adjacent parking at the Lake Forest train station. Please respect our neighbors and refrain from parking on Illinois Road.
